Capital,
deployed with patience.

Sileru is VRIP7's strategic capital arm. We participate selectively, with proprietary capital, on a long horizon, in ventures where we can contribute conviction and governance.

Read the mandate
I.

A capital arm,
not a fund.

Sileru exists to deploy the VRIP7 group's own capital with discipline. It is not a fund. It does not solicit external capital, does not accept third-party subscriptions, and does not manage other people's money. It deploys only what the group itself has earned, on a horizon that the group itself sets.

This is a deliberate constraint. The discipline of operating with one's own capital is different from the discipline of operating with someone else's. There is no quarterly investor letter to write, no fund vintage to chase, no exit pressure manufactured by an LP committee. The only counterparty is the family that owns the group, and the only horizon is the one the family is willing to wait for.

What that purchases, in our reading, is the freedom to do two things well that funded structures often struggle to do at all: to say no to most opportunities, and to stay invested in the right ones long after a fund would have been compelled to mark and move on.

Sileru participates where the group can contribute something beyond money, conviction in a sector, governance discipline, operating proximity, or the patience to let a thesis prove out across a cycle. Where we cannot contribute beyond capital, we usually do not participate. There are better stewards for that capital than us.

"We deploy capital the way a family deploys it, slowly, deliberately, and with the people who will live with the consequence."
Sileru Operating Principle
II.

How we participate, and
how we do not.

i.
Own capital, always.
We deploy the group's own capital. Never anyone else's.
Sileru does not raise, solicit, accept, or manage third-party capital. Every participation is funded from VRIP7's balance sheet. This removes an entire category of misaligned incentive and clarifies, at every decision, whose interest is being served.
ii.
Selective by default.
The default answer is no. The exceptions earn themselves.
The discipline of saying no to most opportunities is the precondition for saying yes well to the others. We expect to participate in a small number of carefully chosen situations, not in the broader market. Volume is not the metric.
iii.
Long horizons.
We measure outcomes in decades, not quarters.
A short horizon forces shallow decisions. A long horizon, owed to the absence of fund-vintage pressure, lets us hold thesis through cycles, support founders through scaling pain, and let compounding work as compounding does.
iv.
Conviction, not consensus.
We participate where we can contribute beyond capital.
If a participation can be replaced by any other cheque, we are not the right counterparty for it. We look for situations where the group's conviction, sector reading, governance discipline, or operating proximity adds something the capital itself does not.
v.
Written governance.
Every decision is reviewed. Every review is documented.
Capital decisions of consequence are deliberated by the VRIP7 Board, supported by written memos, and recorded in the group's minutes. The same discipline that governs the operating verticals governs the capital arm.
A Note on Restraint

Sileru is not a fund, not an asset manager, and not a vehicle for outside capital. It is a discipline.
